This project aims to create awareness of the legacy of Devanagari letterpress printing and its importance in Indian culture. This documentary will be a great source of information and inspiration for typographers, designers, historians, and enthusiasts. We aim to create a visual archive of the art of Devanagari letterpress printing. We want to show the beauty and intricacy of this type of printing and how it has been used to create various products. We will use interviews, archival photos, and research to create an exciting and informative documentary. We hope to inspire new generations of Devanagari letterpress enthusiasts by completing this project.

Achievement

In Typoday 2018, a typo day workshop happened at Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai, India. Professor Tarun Deep Giridhar and Professor Shubhanand Goal Jog introduced the documentary to educate students to give them knowledge about the ancient typo in the workshop. The documentary has been used as an educational tool to introduce students to the history and evolution of typography. The documentary will be shown in classrooms and workshops and distributed online. Educational materials and resources will accompany the documentary to explore the history of typography further.
